The estate of Chinon Abbaye covers an area of 32 hectares, which include three different terroirs. These terroirs include the plateau of Ligre’ and Beaumont, the slopes of Roche Clermault and Chinon, and the gravelly soils of Rivieres, making it possible to produce traditionally fruity wines and fresh lively rose wines. The terroir of Chinon enjoys a climate protected from harsh cold winters and hot, dry summers, by the two rivers surrounding the area, the Vienne and the Loire, assuring a year-round temperate climate in the evenings. These are excellent wines for laying down.
